About the Job
This position manages moderately sized projects or processes with minimal oversight and provides measurable input to new products, processes, or standards in operational plans to implement customer integrations and/or objectives. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 8+ years of prior engineering experience. Additionally, they should possess experience working across contract and location boundaries and be familiar with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
The Principal Systems Engineer will provide systems engineering and integration support to assess, plan, coordinate, schedule, and implement projects from inception through system transition. They will communicate with various levels of program, other contractor, and government stakeholders and work to positively influence parties within and outside of the job function at an operational level regarding policies, procedures, and practices. Exceptional problem-solving skills are necessary to effectively manage projects in this environment. A key purpose of this position is to manage system integration projects and provide reliable data to the Customer enabling them to make informed decisions regarding the installation, integration checkout, and test of operational system modifications and upgrades.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred)
- A minimum of 8+ years of prior engineering experience
- Experience with Systems installation, integration, and test experience
- Experience with Engineering technical abilities and project management skills
- Experience with internal and external customers in a team environment (Government, Military, SETA, and Contractor)
