Job Title: Paralegal/Legal Support Officer

Charterhouse is seeking an experienced Paralegal/Legal Support Officer to join our team on a temporary contract basis.

About the Role:

This senior administrative role involves providing high-quality clerical and paralegal support for an effective and efficient prosecution service. The successful candidate will need to be able to prioritize workloads effectively and have prior experience in a similar position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal support to staff, prosecutors, and other Counsel
  • Maintain briefs, files, file notes, and records of proceedings
  • Liaise with external stakeholders to obtain and provide necessary information and assistance
  • Prepare court documents for prosecutions and appeals efficiently and accurately
  • Provide general legal support, including registration and updating matters, drafting correspondence, and records management
  • Record keeping and maintaining databases
Requirements:
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Significant experience in delivering clerical support services in a legal service environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • High level of attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Legal or Government experience is preferred, but not essential
