
Drone Operations Specialist

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced drone pilot to fill this challenging role in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.
- Conduct aerial surveys and inspections using drones, capturing high-quality images, videos, and data of construction sites, buildings, and infrastructure projects.
- Operate drones safely and skillfully to obtain precise and accurate aerial footage for architectural, engineering, and construction purposes.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction professionals to determine project requirements and objectives for drone flights.
- Plan and execute flight missions, ensuring compliance with aviation regulations, safety protocols, and local airspace restrictions.
- Maintain and calibrate drones, cameras, and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and image quality.
- Process and analyze captured data to generate detailed reports, maps, and models that assist in project planning, progress monitoring, and quality control.
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate aerial data into BIM (Building Information Modeling) and GIS (Geographic Information System) software.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, drone technology advancements, and regulatory changes related to drone operations.
- Conduct pre-flight and post-flight inspections to ensure the safe operation of drones and identify any maintenance or technical issues.
Requirements:
- Hold a valid Remote Pilot License (RePL) issued by CASA in Australia.
- Possess a current Remote Operator's Certificate (ReOC) or be willing to obtain one.
- Demonstrated experience in operating drones and capturing aerial footage, particularly in the AEC industry.
- Strong knowledge of drone flight planning, navigation, and operational safety procedures.
- Familiarity with aerial imaging technologies, such as high-resolution cameras, LiDAR, and thermal sensors.
- Proficiency in post-processing software for data analysis, such as photogrammetry and GIS software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail for troubleshooting and maintenance of drones and related equipment.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with project teams and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and privacy laws governing drone operations in Australia.
- Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
