About the role:
Our residential care program provides case management support for children and young people with high and complex needs through a therapeutically oriented program.
This position is responsible for case management within a therapeutic and trauma-informed model of care. The role involves supervision of caregivers, caregiver assessment, contributing to overall service development, and commitment to best practice in Occupational Health and Safety.
This is a full-time fixed-term position based in Dandenong, VIC, within our Southern Out of Home Care Program.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide case management support for children and young people with high and complex needs
- To work within a therapeutic and trauma-informed model of care
- To supervise caregivers and conduct caregiver assessments
- Contribute to overall service development and implementation of best practices in Occupational Health and Safety
Requirements:
- A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values
- An awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families
- Appropriate tertiary qualification in social work, community services, or equivalent
- Sound professional knowledge and theory base relating to trauma, attachment, and integrated trauma-informed practice
- Experience in child welfare practice and an understanding of meeting children's developmental needs
- A knowledge of child safe principles and standards
- Professional casework skills including knowledge of LAC and CRISSP/CRIS
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team setting
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with others
Benefits:
- Hourly rate of $51 to $53.31 as outlined in the SCHADS Award Level 5, dependent on qualification and experience
