Key Role in Aboriginal Self-Determination and Inclusion

This position plays a pivotal part in supporting the implementation of initiatives that promote cultural heritage, community wellbeing, and Aboriginal self-determination.

  • Spearhead respectful partnerships and inclusive programs that celebrate culture and community.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure initiatives are meaningful and well-coordinated.
Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement community engagement strategies to support the delivery of initiatives and events that acknowledge the perspectives, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Collaborate with community members, service providers, and other levels of government to deliver initiatives that support positive outcomes across our diverse municipality.
  • Provide high-quality advice and support to inform the development of policies, programs, and services that promote community health and wellbeing.
Requirements
  • Strong community values and cultural understanding.
  • Experience in community engagement, partnerships, or project delivery - particularly working with or alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and communities.
