Occupational Therapist - Early Intervention Specialist

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our multidisciplinary team as a senior occupational therapist, providing expert clinical governance and leadership in occupational therapy services.

The successful candidate will work with children aged 0-2 years and their families in a community setting, delivering high-quality, person-centered care that is culturally responsive.

This role requires a highly skilled and experienced occupational therapist who can demonstrate advanced clinical experience working within a paediatric setting. A strong understanding of the unique needs of children in the 0-2 age group is essential.

You will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing effective treatment plans, and implementing equipment and adaptations to support children's participation and engagement in daily activities.

We are looking for someone who possesses excellent communication skills, is able to work collaboratively with the healthcare team, and has a demonstrated ability to provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert clinical governance and leadership in occupational therapy services.
  • Work with children aged 0-2 years and their families in a community setting.
  • Deliver high-quality, person-centered care that is culturally responsive.
  • Conduct assessments and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Implement equipment and adaptations to support children's participation and engagement in daily activities.

Requirements:

  • Recognised Degree in Occupational Therapy or other qualification deemed appropriate by the employer.
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist working within a Paediatric setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality care.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with clients/consumers, carers, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidenced-based care.
  • Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2).
