Early Intervention Specialist

You can be either an Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Speech Pathologist,
or an Early Childhood Teacher, or Social Worker
Deliver support under a Key Worker model

Key Worker - Early Childhood Intervention

Employment Term - Ongoing - Full Time or Part Time (minimum 3 days per week)

Location - Seven Hills

Salary Range
$88,226 - $112,801
Includes Annual Leave Loading and Superannuation (depending on experience)

In your new role you will provide early childhood intervention services to support children with developmental delays or disabilities, and their families. You will work on behalf of our team who will be supporting you to help families to break down barriers to reveal children's true abilities.

About Your Role:

  • Plan and coordinate supports with the child and family that reflect strengths based and family centered approaches
  • Deliver supports to children and families that lead to positive outcomes, utilising a transdisciplinary key worker approach
  • Assess and communicate the child's development and ongoing progress
  • Facilitate a team around the child that promotes participation in family, community and cultural activities
  • Ensure that supports are clearly documented, coordinated, and communicated to families and internal and external stakeholders
  • Meet the responsibilities of your role including positive outcomes with children and families, contributions to the team and meeting key performance indicators
  • Demonstrate the values of our organisation

Your Everyday

You may have done:

  • Attended a family's home to conduct their first appointment, getting to know them, their child and goals
  • Provided therapy at a preschool to support a child to develop their motor skills
  • Supported the parents of a 5-year-old child to find a local school that best suits their child's needs
  • Worked collaboratively with a Speech Pathologist and family members to support a child to develop their communication and social skills
  • Accessed mentoring and internal supports to help grow your expertise and skills
  • Participated in a weekly team meeting and contributed thoughts, ideas and solutions
  • Shared a joke and a laugh with colleagues and maybe attended a hub social event

To Be Successful In This Role

  • Be either AHPRA registered, SPA registered, hold a current Teachers Registration with the relevant State Education Authority or Bachelors Degree qualification in Social Work and hold a full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
  • Be passionate about providing a deeper level of support to children and families
  • Be a great listener and have a positive approach to risk
  • Have a drive to delivering high impact outcomes in children and families' lives
  • Be flexible and able to work in a commercial environment
  • Have a commitment to developing yourself and the people around you
  • Be up to date with your Covid 19 Vaccination
  • Be able to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Check & Working with Children's Check
