Job Description:

Our ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting damaged, deleted and defective goods to return vendor inventory. They will communicate with buyers and suppliers, obtain supplier return authorization for items, package return-to-vendor items and ship them out.

We are seeking someone who can distribute, log, collect and key destroyed merchandise sheets while following proper safety and security procedures and standards.

The successful candidate will have the following key responsibilities:

  1. Distribute logs
  2. Collect and key destroyed merchandise sheets from all departments
  3. Key salvage and salvage-for-credit merchandise with Inventory Auditor and staff-level Manager
  4. Ensure RTV inventory accurately reflects the RTV physical, return to depot, destroy for credit, salvage, salvage for credit, special handling, and out for repair inventories
  5. Document and track out-for-repair items
  6. Organize and accurately process RTV documents and key to system
  7. Keep RTV inventory at a minimum by obtaining return authorization and shipping merchandise to approved destination while following guidelines for disposal of merchandise agreed upon by buyer and supplier to achieve highest recovery rate possible
  8. Notify management regarding supplier damage and destroy or shrink issues
  9. Clean and organize the RTV area
  10. Secure lock-up items, follow all security procedures, and lock RTV when unattended
  11. Re-wrap damaged merchandise for sale on the floor
  12. Learn other positions in the area and assist as needed
  13. Follow proper Receiving and general safety and security procedures and standards
  14. Assist in other areas of Receiving as needed
  15. Provide prompt and courteous service to members, employees, and suppliers.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in using computer software and systems
  • Basic math skills and accuracy in handling cash and stock
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects and move around the store
