The Operational Excellence Lead is a key role within the Internal Audit & Operational Excellence function at Latitude. This position reports directly to the Group General Manager Internal Audit & Operational Excellence, who in turn reports to the CEO and Board Audit Committee.

The primary responsibility of the Operational Excellence Lead is to drive the Operational Excellence strategy across the Enterprise, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This involves proactively reviewing existing processes, workflows, and systems to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement, and developing actionable recommendations aligned to best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and execution of the Operational Excellence strategy for the Enterprise
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for process redesign, quality improvement, and best practice utilization
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing processes, workflows, and systems to identify inefficiencies, pain points, and bottlenecks
  • Develop pragmatic and actionable recommendations to address opportunities for optimization and enhancement
  • Prepare detailed reports documenting opportunities, recommendations, and expected benefits
  • Communicate recommendations and expected benefits to Middle and Senior Management for prioritization and implementation
  • Oversee the timely and effective implementation of recommendations by the relevant Business Unit, providing advisory support as needed
  • Assist management with the implementation of recommendations, as required
  • Establish and monitor metrics to measure the effectiveness of recommendations implemented by the Business Unit
  • Provide operational excellence advisory support to Business Units on new or changed processes, workflows, and systems
  • Assist with the preparation of Management and Board reports
  • Enhance Operational Excellence capability across the Enterprise by developing and implementing process improvement tools, methodologies, and training

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business Administration, Commerce, Engineering, or related fields
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in process improvement, operational management, or a related field
  • Extensive financial services experience, preferably in retail banking or consumer lending
  • Expertise in process improvement methodologies and change implementation
  • Proficient in data analysis and performance metrics
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and engagement skills
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills
  • Strong attention to detail, including thoroughness in reviewing data, processes, and documentation
  • Proactive and inquisitive mindset
