About the Role

The Assistant Director plays a pivotal role in driving the development of comprehensive policy reforms aimed at addressing worker exploitation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the creation of policy proposals to bolster Fair Work Act compliance and enforcement frameworks.
  • Provide strategic briefings to support the Government's workplace relations agenda.
  • Foster collaboration with key stakeholders, including the Fair Work Commission, employer groups, unions, civil society, and academia.

Essential Skills:

  • Exceptional analytical skills and ability to contribute to policy development.
  • Demonstrated policy expertise and capacity to understand complex problems and develop informed policy solutions.
  • Highly motivated individual with proven strong leadership and management capabilities.
  • Able to effectively communicate complex concepts, ideas, and arguments to diverse audiences.

Eligibility: Ongoing APS employees only. Temporary transfer at level or temporary performance opportunity available for 6 months.
