Principal Policy Officer

**Key responsibilities include**:
- Identify, research and analyse complex policy issues, develop options and provide high-level policy advice in the area of work health and safety and electrical safety to the Manager, Director, Senior Executives and the Minister.
- Work individually or as part of a team, supported by a Manager and Director, to develop outputs including major policy papers/reports, submissions, legislation, briefs, memoranda and letters of reply on complex and sensitive work health and safety and electrical safety policy issues.
- Prepare Cabinet submissions, including policy recommendations, briefings, correspondence, and policy papers for the consideration of the Senior Executives and the Minister.
- Lead cross-branch projects and/or multi-disciplinary project teams to resolve key policy problems
- Represent the branch, department or the Government at a range of forums including interdepartmental and inter-governmental meetings.
- Liaise and negotiate with other agencies and key stakeholders at a state and national level on a range of work health and safety and electrical safety issues, within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Provide guidance on and contribute to a positive, productive and professional team culture.
