Provide high-level policy advice to the Director and OCG Executive Leadership team on complex strategic policy issues relevant to OCG.
- Lead, input into and coordinate OCGs response to external policy and legislation discussion papers, Cabinet/CBRC submissions and other requests as required, in line with the State Development and Public Works Organisation Act 1971 and the Strong and Sustainable Resource Communities Act 2017.
- Review Cabinet submissions and contribute regular Coordinator-General and departmental briefings on matters to be considered by Cabinet, whilst working collaboratively with other areas of the department, including the Cabinet Legislation and Liaison Office and the departmental policy team.
- Develop, maintain and foster strong and effective relationships and networks within OCG, the broader department and across government, with key external agencies.
- Participate on departmental policy networks and external agency policy networks, representing and championing the interests of the Coordinator-General. Encourage a collaborative and proactive policy approach within the OCG.
- Exemplify and contribute to a positive, productive and professional team culture, sharing knowledge andinformation and working both collaboratively with colleagues and autonomously
- Demonstrated knowledge or the ability to acquire knowledge of policy and legislation development through the formulation, consultation, implementation and evaluation stages of the policy cycle; and knowledge of Government decision making and legislative processes at both a state and Commonwealth level.
