The role of the Strategic Policy and Strategy Advisor is to provide high-level leadership in the provision of strategic policy and strategy advice to support senior executives in delivering on government's policy and reform agenda as it relates to youth justice.
This includes working closely with central agencies of government, other state and federal government departments, and the non-government sector to achieve client outcomes. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality integrated strategic policy and strategy advice to assist senior management in advising senior officials and directors-general.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic policy projects, including the development of submissions, cabinet submissions, and cabinet budget review committee submissions.
- Research and advise on contemporary strategic policy frameworks based on evidence and best practice locally, nationally, and internationally.
- Develop and maintain productive partnerships with stakeholders to ensure successful negotiation on strategic policy and strategy matters.
- Contribute to the management of the unit's cabinet work program, meeting all deadlines and performance requirements.
- Represent the department in whole-of-government and intergovernmental forums and negotiations.
