About the Grounds Maintenance Role

A highly motivated and skilled grounds maintenance professional is required to join our team to complete tasks associated with planned maintenance and presentation of council's parks, gardens, reserves and sports grounds. A variety of mowing, cleaning, chemical and maintenance techniques will be utilised to maintain areas in a clean and tidy condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow specific guidelines and protocols to complete tasks within allocated timeframes
  • Maintenance of garden areas, including rainwater gardens and other similar green spaces
  • Operation of mowers and equipment to maintain parks, gardens, sportfields, naturestrips and other similar areas
  • Other duties specified by the supervisor or manager
  • Undergo planning and cleaning of laneways and walkways
  • Preparation and maintenance of turf areas and sports facilities
  • Upkeep of the presentation of vegetation and surrounding environments

Requirements:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Certificate III in a relevant field, such as horticulture or conservation
  • White Card - General Construction Induction Certification
  • Drivers Licence (Class C)
  • Chemical Safety Accreditation (AQF3)
  • First Aid and CPR Accreditation
  • Traffic Controller licence
  • Sound knowledge of WH&S policies and procedures
  • Ability to use mobile communication devices, including mobile phones and tablets
