Job Opportunity:

The Director of Aged Care Programs is a senior leadership position within NACCHO, responsible for leading a new aged care team and overseeing the development and implementation of programs that improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people accessing aged care.

This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander aged care policy and programs at the national level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a new aged care team in the development and implementation of programs to improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people accessing aged care.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of programs that address the complex needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including governments, ACCHSs, and community partners.
  • Represent NACCHO on national reference groups and negotiate with governments on healthcare policy and systems reform.
Requirements
  • Experience in program implementation, policy development, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong leadership skills, including managing diverse teams and contractors.
  • Program and grant management skills, with a proven ability to deliver in complex environments.
  • Knowledge of aged care policy and programs.
  • High-level stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
