Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources professional to join our team in regional Queensland.

The Role

This is a hands-on position responsible for overseeing day-to-day human resources and payroll operations, ensuring compliance with legislation and supporting positive outcomes for staff across the organisation.

You will provide guidance to leaders on employee relations, industrial matters, and change management, while also mentoring and leading a small HR team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising 3 staff across HR and payroll
  • Manage daily HR functions, including employee relations, payroll, and learning and development activities
  • Provide expert advice on workplace legislation, industrial relations, and organisational change processes
  • Support leaders and staff through employee relations matters, including investigations and performance issues
  • Represent the organisation in meetings and provide accurate, timely reporting as required

Requirements

Operational HR experience, including payroll

Strong knowledge of awards, legislation, and compliance frameworks

Strong communication and relationship-building ability

Local Government experience (desirable)

Current driver's licence and willingness to live and work in a regional location
