About the Role

The Aboriginal Health Council of Western Australia is seeking a Traineeship Program Coordinator to oversee the Indigenous Health Workforce Traineeship (IHWT) Program across Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHS) in Western Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate IHWT Program operations, increasing the number of skilled Aboriginal professionals working in the Aboriginal health care sector
  • Develop viable career pathways in the health and community services sector for Aboriginal individuals
  • Foster the capacity of ACCHS to provide culturally appropriate healthcare services to Aboriginal communities

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in program/project administration, recruitment, training, and development or a related field
  • Understanding of the vocational education and training sector and ability to navigate the intricacies and frameworks of qualifications delivered by Registered Training Organisations (RTOs)
  • Well-developed administrative skills, including strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with applicants, external organisations, management, and employees at all levels of the organisation
