Position Profile: Join the Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) in promoting lifelong health for children and adolescents We are seeking a dedicated Senior Aboriginal Health Practitioner to join the Healthy Lifestyle Program. In this role, you will provide culturally safe, holistic clinical care, health education, and promotion to Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people, working collaboratively with healthcare teams to ensure health equity. Key responsibilities include providing cultural safety, acting as a cultural advisor, conducting health assessments, developing health strategies, and promoting community health and wellbeing.

To be successful, you must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, be registered with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practice Board of Australia and demonstrate experience in providing primary healthcare to Aboriginal people.

About Child & Adolescent Community Health (CACH): Community Health provides health and developmental assessments, early intervention and health promotion services for children and young people.

These services are provided in the community across the Perth metropolitan area at community health centres, in schools, home visits and through telehealth appointments. Services focus on child health, growth and development, behaviour, immunisation and supporting families.

Your ability to meet the work-related requirements will be assessed throughout the recruitment process. • Prepare a statement (of no more than two pages) that answers the following:
• Your knowledge and understanding of the Aboriginal Health Practitioner role and how you would make a difference in the Healthy Lifestyles Program.
• How would you ensure that you effectively communicate and connect with Aboriginal clients and community members.
• What do you see as some of the health issues affecting Aboriginal clients in terms of living a Healthy Lifestyle?

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. Both options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
