About the Role

We're seeking a Strategic Governance Expert to lead our institution's operations within a framework of excellence, integrity, and accountability. This role involves coordinating internal audit activities to improve our operations and protect our collections, research, and public programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enable Excellence: Audit Coordination - Ensure seamless governance processes by preparing high-quality papers and supporting committee work.
  • Strategic Support: Policy Development - Lead the development and review of organizational policies, working with diverse teams to ensure frameworks support compliance and creativity.
  • Policy Innovation: Risk Intelligence - Identify emerging governance challenges and opportunities, providing strategic advice to senior leadership.
  • Legislative Navigation: Regulatory Compliance - Monitor regulatory changes affecting museums, cultural institutions, and public sector organizations, translating complex requirements into practical strategies.
  • Operational Efficiency: Internal Controls - Implement effective internal controls to mitigate risks and enhance operational efficiency.
About You

To succeed in this role, you'll need a proven track record in governance, risk management, compliance, or audit functions, with at least 5 years of experience. A relevant tertiary qualification in Law, Business, Public Administration, Risk Management, Accounting, or related discipline is essential.

You'll thrive in dynamic environments where no two days are the same, and be energized by supporting teams doing meaningful, impactful work. Strong communication and project management skills are crucial for success in this role.
