As a skilled Oracle Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the administration and maintenance of Oracle databases hosted on AWS. Your duties will include performing regular database operations such as shutdowns, restarts, patching, log cleanup, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and maintain Oracle databases hosted on AWS, including RDS and/or EC2.
  • Perform regular database operations, including shutdowns, restarts, patching, log cleanup, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.
  • Implement SSL/TLS encryption to ensure secure application-to-database communication.
  • Configure and manage RMAN (Recovery Manager) for backup, restore, and disaster recovery operations.
  • Support data migration activities in non-production and production environments, including one-time data loads and Oracle GoldenGate (OGG)-based replication.
  • Perform Oracle database performance tuning and optimization across environments.
  • Administer and operate Data Guard or GoldenGate for replication between primary and standby databases.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database administration, proficiency with Oracle GoldenGate, and operational experience with RMAN. Additionally, they should be proficient with proactive monitoring using OEM or custom scripts and have experience implementing SSL/TLS for secure database connections.

Skills:
  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database administration.
  • Proficiency with Oracle GoldenGate for data replication.
  • Operational experience with RMAN for backup, recovery, and configuration.
  • Proven skills in Oracle database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Data Guard and GoldenGate for database replication. Expertise in configuring and managing active-passive setups with proper role definitions.
  • Ability to configure Fast-Start Failover (FSFO) and monitor Data Guard status.
  • Proficient with proactive monitoring using OEM or custom scripts.
  • Experience in performing failover procedures and validating application connectivity post-failover.
  • Experience implementing SSL/TLS for secure database connections.
  • Scripting skills (e.g., Shell, Bash, Python) to automate routine tasks.
  • Solid understanding of networking, storage, and security within cloud environments.
  • Nice to have: Experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
