Oracle Database Administrator Job

As a seasoned Oracle Database Administrator with experience managing complex database environments, you will be responsible for administering and maintaining Oracle databases hosted on AWS (RDS and/or EC2).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and maintain Oracle databases hosted on AWS (RDS and/or EC2) to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Perform regular database operations including shutdowns, restarts, patching, log cleanup, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.
  • Implement SSL/TLS encryption to secure application-to-database communication.
  • Configure and manage RMAN (Recovery Manager) for backup, restore, and disaster recovery operations.
  • Support data migration activities in non-production and production environments including one-time data loads and Oracle GoldenGate (OGG)-based replication.
  • Perform Oracle database performance tuning and optimization across environments.
  • Administer and operate Data Guard or GoldenGate for replication between primary and standby databases.

Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database administration is essential. Proficiency with Oracle GoldenGate for data replication, operational experience with RMAN for backup, recovery, and configuration, and proven skills in Oracle database performance tuning and troubleshooting are also required. Experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code tools is desirable but not necessary.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of networking, storage, and security within cloud environments. Ability to review and contribute to LLDs, runbooks, and solution documentation, as well as experience auditing and validating third-party or vendor deliverables, is also expected.
