
Strategic Business Development Lead

The Market Growth Lead will be responsible for driving business development and marketing strategy across the Energy and Resources industry group.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute a strategic plan to unlock profitable growth for the business and clients, in alignment with firm objectives.
- Collaborate with key partners, consultants, and lawyers to bring together teams to deliver industry priorities.
- Provide subject matter expertise on the energy and resources industry, including key matters, stakeholders, and competitor landscape.
- Coach partners and lawyers with strategic business development advice.
- Lead pitches and collaborate with colleagues to apply industry insights to bids.
- Drive client conversations to ensure client intelligence is maintained, relationships are nurtured, and service excellence is upheld.
- Identify opportunities across business units and support the formation of cross-business unit teams to pursue opportunities.
- Qualify and develop high-quality client-facing materials and precedents.
- Collaborate with the brand/marketing team to design and deliver client and market engagement strategies.
- Establish internal and external networks and create strong connectivity in a matrix structure.
- Apply a commercial lens to industry and client development by understanding the levers of profitability and reporting on financial performance.

- Tertiary qualifications (or equivalent) in marketing, business, or a related discipline.
- 7+ years' experience in business development, or equivalent work experience. Experience in a professional services environment will be well regarded.
- Proven ability in strategic planning and client account management to deliver commercial outcomes.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills with high attention to detail.
- Collaborative and adaptable approach, nurturing relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to manage competing and high-profile tasks in a fast-paced environment working within tight timeframes.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills with senior stakeholders.
- Commercially focused approach with strong analytical and planning skills.
- Leadership mindset - be a team-player, working with, mentoring, and connecting with people at all levels.
