Senior Leisure Program Officer

The Royal Freemasons Moe is a leading not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing high-quality aged care services. As a Senior Leisure Program Officer, you will play a vital role in developing and delivering an innovative activities program for our residents.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and creative individual who is committed to enhancing the lives of older adults. You will work closely with our Lifestyle Assistants and Volunteers to design and implement engaging programs that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical activity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver an innovative activities program that meets the diverse needs and interests of our residents.
  • Collaborate with our Lifestyle Assistants and Volunteers to design and implement engaging programs.
  • Conduct regular assessments to identify residents' preferences and abilities.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure a person-centered approach to care.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and make adjustments as needed.
  • Provide training and support to staff on leisure and lifestyle programming.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to leisure and lifestyle programming.
Requirements:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organised individual with a Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle (or equivalent) and at least two years' experience in a similar role. Excellent interpersonal communication, customer service, and computer skills are essential. You must also be able to relate and communicate well to older people, particularly those living with dementia or a disability.

Selection Criteria:
  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle (mandatory).
  • Two years' experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, customer service, and computer skills.
  • A passion for working in Aged Care and Lifestyle.
  • Ability to work with a team and excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to create posters, flyers, calendars, and invitations.
  • Ability to think outside the square and introduce new activities.
  • Able to work in a person-centered model and promote a person's choice.
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check.
  • Covid-19 vaccine (mandatory).
