Job Overview

This finance role at W Hotels is focused on maintaining the operational finance integrity of the hotel.

The Assistant Financial Controller will be responsible for delivering reports on time, performing daily reconciliations, and preparing monthly journals and balance sheet accounts.

They will also support the operational and management team through accurate and effective financial reporting, maintain statutory reporting requirements, and lead month-end processes and financial reconciliations.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the operational finance integrity of the hotel by delivering reports on time and performing daily reconciliations.
  • Support the operational and management team through accurate and effective financial reporting and maintain statutory reporting requirements.
  • Lead month-end processes and financial reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of the hotel's financial records.
  • Drive cost control initiatives and support departmental budgeting to optimize the hotel's financial performance.
  • Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and identify areas for improvement.
  • Mentor finance staff and interns to develop their skills and knowledge in finance and accounting.
  • Collaborate with department heads to ensure financial targets are met and contribute to the overall success of the hotel.
  • Assist the Director of Finance (DOF) and Financial Controller (FC) to streamline accounting functions and operations, and provide financial analysis and reports as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Hospitality.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in hotel finance or accounting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
  • Experience with Opera/POS or PeopleSoft is a plus.
