Job TitleAssistant Director, Reform and Transformation SpecialistThe System Policy and Evidence Branch is responsible for shaping the future transformation of aged care to meet the needs and expectations of older Australians.This is a high-profile area with a high level of Executive exposure. The Branch:
  • Leads whole of aged care Budget strategy, including drafting of briefings.
  • Manages linkages between reform implementation and Government response to Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety.
  • Delivers key projects to strategically position aged care for ongoing reform.
  • Leads Department's approach to ageing policy.
  • Contributes to program management of aged care programs, including lifechecks.gov.au and Dementia and Aged Care Services Fund.
  • Is data custodian for aged care data, responsible for reporting tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing a small team to deliver on key objectives.
  • Ensuring alignment of policy options with broader aged care system reforms.
  • Identifying and considering policy, program, and regulatory issues and risks to inform policy and briefings.
  • Working across Aged Care Group and with other stakeholders to develop briefings and supporting products for Ministers and Executive.
  • Collaborating with other team members to develop and implement forward work plan for Section, focusing on outcomes framework for aged care system.
