Seeking a skilled engineering professional to oversee the operation of all machinery and electrical equipment onboard a transhipment vessel. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the vessel's systems, as well as supervising engineering officers and safeguarding company interests.
About the PositionThis is a permanent full-time role requiring strong technical skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to safety and environmental responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:- Safe/efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all machinery and electrical equipment onboard;
- Supervising all Engineering Officers while adhering to established procedures;
- Safeguarding company and crew interests at all times;
- Assisting the Chief Officer in cargo equipment operation;
- Monitoring bunker, lubricating oils, and sludge transfers affecting ship trim, stress, and stability.
Educational requirements include an Engineer Class 1 certificate, with 12 months of sea time as a First Engineer. Desired certifications include Safety Training (STCW III/2), Work Safely at Heights, and Confined Space Entry. A Maritime Security Identification Card and citizenship or working rights are also required.
