Learn more about our extraordinary teams building inspiring projects in our Impact Report.Project OverviewBechtel has been engaged to provide EPCM services to replace three (3) existing bucketwheel reclaimers at a facility at Dampier in northwest Australia.The Project includes the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of the new bucketwheel reclaimers as well as design and construction of associated off-board scope, including earthworks, marine infrastructure, structural works and electrical upgrades to support the installation and operation of the new reclaimers.This will be a site based role working a 2 & 1 FIFO rosterJob SummaryIn this role, you will be responsible for estimating, analysis and control activities for projects with significant non-routine requirements or for cost activities which require a high degree of technical skill.
You will prepare cost studies, review cost trends, and develop and implement project requirements for cost control.
Your detailed analysis will provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges.Major ResponsibilitiesPerforms generally non-routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities.
Coordinates the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems, and reports Coordinates the development and accuracy of cost reports Verifies consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility and consistency Prepares specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures Investigates the requirements for estimating and/or cost control data Collects and classifies cost data Performs budget allocation and reporting/cost control regime for specific construction discipline or group of disciplines Identifies cost trends for management attention Prepares cost studies using historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons Education And Experience RequirementsRequires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experienceRequired Knowledge And SkillsExperience in directing project cost engineering, including cost control and analysis, cost reporting, incurred cost assessment and conducting meetings.
Experience in establishing criteria for Project Controls cost activities and in cost and commitment and incurred cost analysis and management.
Skilled in oral and written communication, with demonstrated ability to present Project Controls information to management/client.
Advanced level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and start-up work processes, as performed by Bechtel.
Knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.
Working Rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required.
