Job Summary

This dynamic role will play a pivotal part in making Australian football more inclusive and accessible for people with disabilities. As a key member of our team, you will drive participation growth by leading strategic initiatives that promote equal opportunities for all.

About the Role

The successful candidate will provide leadership and direction to national participation workforce, ensuring that future footy participation opportunities are more inclusive and accessible. They will work closely with various stakeholders to develop modified versions of AFL catering for people with various disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Strategic Initiatives: Drive participation growth by creating and executing initiatives that promote equal opportunities for people with disabilities.
  • Build Relationships and Partnerships: Collaborate with relevant AFL departments and external partners to support program and initiative delivery.
  • Modify AFL Programs: Work with stakeholders to develop modified versions of AFL catering for people with various disabilities.
  • Serve as a Key Resource: Provide guidance and support to national and state staff on disability inclusion matters.
Requirements
  • Strong Knowledge of Disabilities: Possess a deep understanding of different types of disabilities.
  • Experience Working with People with Disabilities: Have 5+ years of experience working with people with disabilities, including ability to develop and modify sport to remove barriers to participation.
  • Demonstrated Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage diverse teams.
  • Event Management Skills: Experience in managing events and programs.
  • Valid Working with Children Check: Hold a valid Working with Children Check.
