Inclusive Football Participation Specialist

The National Disability Inclusion Participation Lead plays a vital role in enhancing the inclusivity and accessibility of community football participation programs. This key position provides strategic direction to the broader national participation workforce, ensuring that future footy participation opportunities are more inclusive and accessible for people with disabilities.
About the RoleThis National Disability Inclusion Participation Specialist will work closely with stakeholders to develop modified versions of Australian Football catering for people with various disabilities, including classification requirements, rules, resources, coaching and officiating content. They will also build relationships and partnerships with relevant departments and external partners and communities to support program and initiative delivery.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide leadership and strategic direction for initiatives to make Australian football more inclusive and accessible for people with disability – driving participation growth.
- Support participation and program workforce around the country with development and implementation of effective strategies to engage and connect with people with disability; including delivery of programs, competitions and development pathways.
- Work with relevant stakeholders to continue to develop modified versions of AFL catering for people with various disabilities.
This role requires strong knowledge, experience and understanding of types of disabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in working with people with disability, including ability to develop and modify sport to remove barriers to participation for people with disability and an understanding of classification systems.
