National Disability Participation Director

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our disability inclusion participation initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that our community football programs are inclusive, accessible, and delivered within safe environments.
About the Role
This position provides leadership and strategic direction to our national participation workforce, ensuring that future footy participation opportunities are more inclusive and accessible for people with disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement initiatives to make Australian football more inclusive and accessible for people with disability, driving participation growth.
- Support the development and implementation of effective strategies to engage and connect with people with disability, including delivery of programs, competitions, and development pathways.
- Build relationships and partnerships with relevant stakeholders to support program and initiative delivery.
- Work with stakeholders to develop modified versions of AFL catering for people with various disabilities.
- Oversee and/or support delivery of national and state disability inclusion competitions and events.
- Develop plans to build capability of staff to deliver programs for people with disability.
- Contribute to the success of the broader team.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge and understanding of types of disabilities.
- Experience working with people with disability (5+ years), including ability to develop and modify sport to remove barriers to participation.
- Demonstrated experience in partnering with and influencing diverse stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and relationship management skills.
- Able to innovate and manage change.
- Event management skills.
