Perigon Group is seeking a highly experienced Chief Payroll Operations Specialist to play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our payroll management processes. This senior position will be responsible for managing and processing payroll accurately and on time, while also collaborating with the Payroll Manager and team to streamline payroll processes and ensure compliance with Awards/Agreements and relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Payroll Operations: Manage and process payroll accurately and on time, adhering to company policies and industry standards.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with the Payroll Manager and team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance payroll operations and compliance.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Payroll Manager and team to maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity, demonstrating empathy and respect in client services and team interactions.
  • Training and Development: Contribute to the ongoing training and development of payroll staff, supporting a culture of continuous improvement and compliance.
  • Documentation: Ensure that all payroll-related documentation is up-to-date, accurate, and aligned with company policies and industry standards.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Strong experience in payroll operations, ideally with knowledge of Clerical Employees Award Level 4.
  • Communication Skills: High-level communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and adapt in a team environment.
  • Organisational Skills: Excellent organisational and analytical skills, with the capacity to manage workloads under strict deadlines.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and experience with payroll systems such as Preceda.
  • Certifications: Current Police Screening Certificate and up-to-date vaccinations as per company policy.

We offer a competitive salary package, estimated at AU$85,000 - AU$95,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
