Arcadis is looking for a Principal Road Designer to lead major infrastructure projects supporting national civil infrastructure business units. The projects involve High Speed Motorways and Major Urban Arterials, with several design stages including Concept Design and Detailed Design.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the delivery of the Road Design component of projects within agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Resolve technical road design issues through effective communication and collaboration with the team.
  • Lead a road design project team, providing coaching and development opportunities.
  • Determine the resources required for a project plan, including elements suitable for outsourcing.
  • Produce accurate, clear, and concise project documents compliant with best practice and quality standards.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with Project Managers, Team Leaders, and clients to ensure effective project communications.
  • Ensure compliance with Arcadis design standards and national design standards.
  • Collaborate with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A degree or qualification relevant to Civil Engineering.
  • Proficiency in Bentley MicroStation and OpenRoads.
  • Significant years of experience in a project delivery environment with participation in major road infrastructure projects, particularly roads and highways design.
  • Knowledge of Austroads Guide to Road Design.
  • Knowledge and experience in applying local authority CADD standards and deliverables.
