Job Title:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to fill a pivotal role within our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in contract management, negotiation, and analysis.

About the Role:

  • Support commercial contract negotiations for various business units, ensuring timely completion and optimal outcomes.
  • Oversee the execution and compliance of contracts, managing variations and change requests.
  • Provide guidance on business risks and support informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Commercial Contract Negotiation:
  • Schedule and coordinate commercial review within tender deadlines.
  • Support GM review (or reviewing) commercial terms for tenders or proposed customer supply contracts.
  • Obtain required input/approvals from business stakeholders & legal teams.
  • Assist in preparing, reviewing, and negotiating commercial risk.
  • Finalize approval and execution by business for tender submissions and customer supply contracts.
Contract Execution and Compliance:
  • Review and manage variation requests, other change requests, directions, orders, and notices under contract terms.
  • Manage and finalize contract completion.
Business Acumen:
  • Have knowledge of the Weir Group Commercial manual.
  • Be able to review and understand business risk and support business decisions.
Team Collaboration:
  • Support the Regional Strategic Leadership team (SLT) on commercial issues as and when they arise.
  • Advise the business on coverage issues in connection with customer supply contracts when required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in tender and/or commercial contract management as a contract manager or advisor.
  • Mining/engineering/construction industry experience highly desirable but not required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and understand commercial ramifications of contract provisions/translate contract provisions for the business and manage exposure to deliver effective commercial solutions for the business.
  • Ability to draft legal contract amendments/clauses.
  • Good commercial sense as well as excellent commercial contracting skills.
  • Effective communicator who can speak fluently in lay terms to a range of audiences about business and legal priorities, risk, and challenges.
