Culinary Excellence at Pelican Waters Tavern

Pelican Waters Tavern, a premier dining destination in Caloundra, seeks a skilled Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Casual Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality dishes that exceed our guests' expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting up workstations and operating kitchen equipment to ensure efficient food preparation and presentation.
  • Baking, grilling, steaming, or boiling fish, meat, vegetables, and other foods to meet our menu standards.
  • Adhering to kitchen hygiene and safety standards to maintain a clean and healthy work environment.
  • Maintaining a clean workspace at all times, including utensils, equipment, and storage areas.
  • Monitoring stock levels to ensure adequate supplies and minimize waste.
  • Staying up-to-date with cooking techniques and methods to enhance our menu offerings and guest experience.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a hands-on, team-focused bistro-style kitchen, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality dishes.
  • Knowledge of cooking practices as they apply to our menu, with a focus on presentation, flavor, and texture.
  • An uncompromising attitude towards high food quality, presentation, and safety, with a commitment to maintaining our high standards.
  • Strong communication and organization skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Flexible availability, with a willingness to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
