We are seeking an accomplished Senior Culinary Professional to join our dynamic team at Popolo Italian Kitchen & Bar Pty Ltd.

About the Role:

  • Craft menus: Develop diverse, seasonal Italian menus that reflect the authentic flavors of Italy, balancing food and labor costs effectively.
  • Source ingredients: Source premium, locally-sourced ingredients to deliver exceptional, high-quality dishes.
  • Quality control: Diligently assess the quality of dishes at every stage of preparation and presentation, ensuring each plate meets our standards of excellence.
  • Team leadership: Work closely with managers and both kitchen and front-of-house staff to effectively address food preparation challenges and enhance overall service efficiency.
  • Culinary expertise: Demonstrate advanced cooking techniques and provide hands-on guidance to kitchen staff on best practices and preparation methods.
  • Dish preparation: Skillfully prepare and cook a wide range of dishes, ensuring each item is executed to perfection.
  • Hygiene and safety: Educate staff on hygiene regulations and best practices, actively ensuring compliance to maintain a safe kitchen environment.
  • Team development: Actively participate in the selection, training, and mentoring of kitchen personnel to foster a skilled and motivated team.
  • Inventory management: Monitor inventory levels to ensure the kitchen operates smoothly, proactively notifying management of low stock to facilitate timely replenishment.

Qualifications:

  • Culinary experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a culinary role.
  • Culinary skills: Strong culinary skills with a passion for food and creativity.
  • Organizational skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Communication skills: Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Regulatory knowledge: Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation standards in a kitchen environment.
