Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Project Manager to assist in planning and managing civil projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of assigned capital works projects from commencement to completion, including complex, multiple, and concurrent projects.

Key Responsibilities include leading and managing stakeholder partnerships, engagement, negotiations, and approvals throughout the project life cycle. Additionally, providing high-quality service to internal and external customers to deliver quality places and spaces for the community through Project and Asset Management excellence.

  • Identify, lead, and implement innovative project value management resulting in cost-effective and solution-based outcomes.
  • Provide support and assistance to the Coordinator Project Delivery Civil in achieving departmental commitments.
  • Assist in investigating and responding to customer reference management queries in accordance with policies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Architecture, or related disciplines, or lesser qualifications with substantial knowledge and experience within the construction industry.

  • Extensive experience in project management, including design, construction, and contractor management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex and concurrent projects.
  • Solid understanding of best practice contracting and tendering processes, Australian construction standards, codes of practice, and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders in a complex public sector environment.
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge, skills, and experience with managing and implementing duties and responsibilities under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004.
  • Ability to effectively work independently and within a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Advanced level of computer proficiency, including Project Management tools and MS Office applications.
