Trade Credit Insurance Claims Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Trade Credit Insurance Claims Specialist to join our team.

  • Assess and manage trade credit claims from lodgement through to resolution, ensuring accurate and timely processing in accordance with policy terms.
  • Interpret complex policy wordings and endorsements to determine coverage applicability, providing clear explanations for stakeholders as required.
  • Investigate the cause of loss and verify compliance with policy conditions, maintaining detailed records of findings and actions taken.
  • Liaise with insolvency practitioners to confirm appointment status, creditor rankings, anticipated dividends, and recoverability, facilitating effective claim resolution.
  • Review debt collection and legal recovery efforts to ensure mitigation of loss and compliance with subrogation provisions, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
  • Communicate with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders regarding claims progress and documentation requirements, providing timely updates and clear instructions.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and audit-compliant records of claims activities and outcomes, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and processes.
  • Identify and escalate potential fraud or breach of policy obligations, contributing to a culture of transparency and accountability within the organization.
  • Contribute to monthly reporting, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging data insights to inform strategic decisions and drive business growth.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in the trade credit insurance industry or similar financial claims environment.
  • Prior experience in claims assessment, collections, insolvency, or commercial credit risk highly regarded.
  • Strong working knowledge of trade credit insurance policy structures and claimable events, with ability to apply this expertise in a fast-paced claims environment.
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships under time-sensitive and commercially sensitive conditions, fostering trust and cooperation among key parties.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and insurance software systems, with ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing system requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
