Land Conservation Officer

The City of Palmerston is seeking a highly skilled Land Conservation Officer to join our City Sustainability team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of our Community Plan by managing Council's nature conservation areas.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing sustainable land management plans, including weed and fire management
- Preparing and implementing conservation plans, including revegetation
- Managing lake management activities
- Engaging with the community through education and outreach programs
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Diploma in Conservation and Land Management or equivalent
- Extensive practical experience in land management activities, including project management and contractor supervision
- Demonstrated experience in preparing and implementing land/weed management plans
- Excellent customer service skills, with experience in handling complex customer enquiries
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with stakeholders
- Well-developed organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines
- A sound understanding of Occupational Health and Safety procedures and practices
- A current White Card or ability to obtain one
