Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Executive Chef to join our team at MQ Health. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality food preparation and service, while ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of meals and dishes for patients, visitors, and staff, ensuring high standards of quality, presentation, and taste.

  • Manage kitchen operations, including inventory management, food storage, and equipment maintenance, to ensure efficient and safe food preparation and service.

  • Develop and implement menus that cater to diverse dietary needs and preferences, while ensuring compliance with nutritional and food safety standards.

  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality food preparation and service.

  • Collaborate with other departments, including nursing and hospitality, to ensure seamless communication and coordination of food service.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards, including HACCP and other relevant regulations.

Requirements

  • Appropriate trade qualification (e.g., Cert IV in Commercial Cookery)

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in a hospital cooking setting

  • Experience with a delegate patient ordering system

  • A thorough understanding of the HACCP program and service delivery model

  • Passion for excellence in customer service with a strong eye for detail

  • High degree of reliability and punctuality

  • Impeccable presentation and hygiene

  • Flexible and available to work across multiple shifts on weekdays and weekends
