
Senior Automation Specialist

We are seeking an automation engineer to join our team and help us develop and build automated solutions for our production line.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation and controls systems, with experience in designing and commissioning industrial automation systems. They should be proficient in programming languages such as C#, .NET, Python, and SQL, and have knowledge of PLC programming and HMI/SCADA systems.
The role involves participating in initial equipment conceptual development, laying out new electrical control panels, creating electrical, pneumatic, and fluid schematics, architecting and writing PLC code, developing robot systems, implementing safety systems, generating HMI screens, managing electrical cabinet builds, selecting and sizing electrical and electromechanical components, and deploying automated processes into production.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
- 2+ years experience in the design and commissioning of automation and controls systems for industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement automation systems to improve manufacturing efficiency and quality.
- Develop and maintain technical specifications for automation equipment and systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automation systems into production lines.
- Analyze and troubleshoot automation system issues to ensure optimal performance.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in automation and controls technology.
- Process integration and electromechanical/mechatronic systems experience.
- Experience working with National Instruments software and hardware.
- Electrical schematic CAD experience using EPlan.
- C#, .NET, python and/or SQL experience.
- PLC programming experience, preferably Siemens TIA Portal & Beckhoff TwinCat 3.
- HMI and SCADA programming experience.
- Field bus networks, serial communication and Ethernet communication.
- Hands-on experience building and commissioning high quality electrical control panels and electro-mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 79, UL508A codes.
- Exposure to a wide variety of production machinery, industrial sensors, and equipment (vision systems, dispense systems, temperature controllers, laser distance sensors, Nut-Runners, etc).
