Automation & Controls Engineer

As a key player in our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing automated solutions for Starship Production. Your expertise will span the development of industrial control panels, PLC code architecture, and robot systems for manufacturing applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical control panels that meet NFPA79/NEC/UL508A standards to ensure seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Architect, write, and debug PLC code for manufacturing applications to drive efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop and implement robot systems for automated manufacturing of vehicle sub-components to streamline production processes.
  • Implement control systems for safeguarding robots, gantries, conveyors, and other equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Manage the build and installation of electrical cabinets, field wiring, pneumatic and fluid plumbing to maintain optimal system performance.
  • Select and size electrical and electromechanical components to ensure compatibility and efficiency.
  • Deploy automated processes and equipment into production to maximize throughput and reduce costs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline to provide a solid foundation in principles and practices.
  • At least 2 years of experience in automation and controls system design and commissioning to demonstrate practical skills and knowledge.
