Job Title:

Maintenance Director

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Director to lead and control all facets of plant maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and control all aspects of plant maintenance, including workshop and shift maintenance, to achieve predetermined maintenance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Develop and implement Preventative Maintenance Strategies to maximise asset utilisation.
  • Plan and direct the team to manage maintenance resources and activities during plant shutdown within budget constraints.
  • Analyse plant equipment reliability and performance using software to improve overall plant equipment reliability.
  • Manage service labour contracts and people provided by an external service labour provider.
  • Lead and embed our global lean manufacturing model and support other teams in implementing it.
  • People management - work closely with individual team members to drive accountability and partner with them on their development journeys.
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in Engineering or similar OR significant experience in Maintenance Management with a trade certificate in either Mechanical or Electrical, accompanied by a strong track record of success in a similar role within the FMCG manufacturing industry.
  • Comfortable managing budgets and setting financial targets.
  • Experience gained in plant reliability, engineering stores, facilities management.
  • A strong planning background.
  • Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment.
  • Good data interpretation skills and ability to use data to inform decisions and insights.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, a proactive approach, and results-oriented mindset.
  • A people manager able to lead a team to deliver successful results and inspire a team to look to the future of maintenance.
