About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Recovery Support Specialist to join our team at Richmond Wellbeing. As a Recovery Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing practical and emotional support to individuals on their journey of personal recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate Recovery Plans: Collaborate with individuals to develop and implement personalized recovery plans, promoting self-determination and choice.
  • Emotional Support and Guidance: Provide emotional support and guidance to individuals, fostering emotional wellbeing and promoting holistic recovery.
  • Address Physical and Mental Health: Adopt a holistic approach to support, addressing physical health and mental distress, and promoting overall wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with Families and Carers: Include family members, carers, and significant individuals in the recovery process, as directed.
  • Crisis Intervention: Address critical incidents and crises according to organizational policies and procedures.
Recovery Plan Support
  • Person-Centered Framework: Work within a person-centered framework, promoting self-determination and choice, and building rapport with service users.
  • Life Skills Development: Assist service users in developing essential life skills to enhance their independence and promote holistic recovery.
Service Operations
  • Documentation and Administration: Ensure timely completion of all necessary documentation and administrative tasks.
  • Team Collaboration: Actively participate in internal meetings, supervision sessions, and training activities, and contribute to the development of policies and best practices.
  • Facility Maintenance: Maintain facilities and property in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Qualification in Human Services, such as Mental Health, Community Services, Psychology, or Counselling.
  • Driver's License: Current WA's Driver's License.
  • Criminal History Check: Satisfactory National Police Clearance (no older than 6 months).
  • First Aid and CPR: Valid First Aid Certificate and CPR.
  • Working with Children's Check: Working with Children's Check.
  • NDIS Screening Check: NDIS Screening Check (for some services).
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Mental Health Frameworks: Understanding of contemporary mental health frameworks and previous experience in a human service-related field, preferably in mental health support.
  • Communication and Organizational Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders and develop written materials, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and organizational skills.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to changing circumstances.
