This role presents an exciting opportunity for an associate or senior associate-level lawyer to work alongside Partner Kate Muller and our national Energy Transactions team. As an integral member of our team, you will collaborate on various projects across energy, infrastructure, and government sectors locally, regionally, and cross-border. This is an ideal time to join a growing practice that offers career advancement opportunities and significant development prospects.

Our team operates across Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne offices, offering genuine flexibility. You can expect to work on numerous energy projects for project sponsors, financiers, and large energy users nationally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working on multiple energy projects for project sponsors, financiers, and large energy users nationwide
  • Advising on and drafting a range of project documentation, including power purchase agreements, connection agreements, services, and development agreements
  • Coordinating due diligence for greenfield and brownfield projects, financing, and acquisitions
  • Managing work streams on large domestic and international projects
  • Liaising with clients on consents, amendments, and project delivery issues as they arise
  • Assisting with business development and marketing initiatives
  • Delegating and supervising work and junior team members

Requirements:

  • 4-8 years of post-qualification experience gained within an energy/projects practice. Project finance experience is highly regarded.
  • Possessing a growth mindset and being commercial, solution-focused, creative, and passionate about delivering the energy transition
  • Experience assisting on a range of matters across the infrastructure, energy, and government sector
  • Strong client liaison skills
  • Excellent analytical, drafting, and communication skills
  • Strong time management and organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities simultaneously

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $160,000 to $220,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including annual leave, sick leave, and public holidays.
