First Aid Officer Job Description

This role provides the opportunity to deliver high-quality first aid services in a diverse educational setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing timely and effective first aid to students, staff, and visitors.

The position involves maintaining accurate records of student medical conditions, incidents, and injuries in accordance with college procedures. Additionally, the First Aid Officer will be responsible for managing first aid supplies and equipment, including defibrillators and EpiPens.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work effectively with students, parents, staff, and external professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first aid and temporary care to students, staff, and visitors, including coordinating hospital transfers if required.
  • Maintain accurate records of student medical conditions, first aid visits, incidents, and injuries in accordance with college procedures.
  • Manage first aid supplies and equipment, including defibrillators and EpiPens.
  • Communicate with parents/carers regarding student illnesses or injuries and maintain collaborative relationships for ongoing care.

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality first aid in diverse settings and emergencies.
  • Current certification in Provide Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting (HLTAID012) or willingness to undertake training.
  • Calm, decisive, and authoritative in medical emergencies.
  • Clear and effective communicator under pressure.
