Dynamic Communication Role

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Switchboard Operator to join our dynamic healthcare team. As a Switchboard Operator, you will play a critical role in maintaining seamless communication and efficient services around the clock.

The ideal candidate will have experience using a Switchboard or in Health Information Systems, with the ability to provide an efficient and courteous response to all telephone calls, and redirect calls appropriately. You will also possess strong organisational skills, with the capacity to interact professionally with staff and consumers and maintain high levels of confidentiality and patient privacy.

The Switchboard is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and it is expected that staff are available to be rostered on a 24 hour, 7 day rolling roster. All staff will be required to assist in the training of new staff members, which will aid in the continuity of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide an efficient and courteous response to all telephone calls
  • Redirect calls appropriately
  • Use best practice techniques for telephone calls
  • Organise tasks and environment with minimal supervision
  • Maintain high levels of confidentiality and patient privacy
