Job Overview

This is a newly created role that requires leading a team to deliver network planning analysis, insights, and technical advisory services for the Victorian Declared Shared Network. The primary focus will be on preparing the power system ahead of major plant closures and through the energy transition.

This position is a senior leadership role with hybrid working options and location flexibility. Quarterly travel may be required if not based in Melbourne.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead technical services to integrate network assets and system services into Victoria's Declared Shared Network, coordinating projects from Planning through to Delivery.
  • Oversee network and system performance monitoring; ensure operational issues inform Network Planning to strengthen power system resilience.
  • Provide expert technical advice to stakeholders on the operational shift from thermal generation to high renewable penetration.
  • Build and empower a high-performing team of professionals; manage budget, compliance, risk, and workforce planning.
  • Establish strong stakeholder relationships and deliver action plans that support strategic goals.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Appropriate tertiary and/or postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline.
  • Significant industry experience in power system planning with strong knowledge of power system modelling, analysis, and primary plant design.
  • Proven track record leading geographically dispersed teams through transformation, delivering high-quality outcomes, and reporting to senior management.
  • Demonstrated capability in project planning, reporting, and delivery, ensuring timely completion to agreed quality standards.
  • Advanced consulting and communication skills to engage diverse stakeholders and negotiate complex technical matters.
