The Role

  • As a senior leader, you will oversee the Future System Studies team to ensure high performance and alignment with company values.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead the development of power system study capabilities, tools, and models to support technical investigations.
  2. Work closely with stakeholders to specify technical requirements from emerging technologies.
  3. Promote innovation and strategic planning to drive business growth.
  4. Motivate team members to achieve goals and provide expert advice to influence decision-making processes.
  5. Demonstrate strong analytical skills to review and approve modelled outcomes.
  6. Cultivate effective communication with various stakeholders through verbal and written reports.
  7. Foster a collaborative environment by engaging in industry working groups and resolving complex issues.

Requirements

  • Educational Background: Relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field (e.g., engineering).
  • Experience: Deep expertise in operating and planning large power systems, and navigating transition challenges in the NEM.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to build and manage teams in complex environments, promoting a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Project Management: Experience in project planning, reporting, and delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to evaluate and critique modelled outcomes.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including editorial capabilities.
  • Negotiation: Experience in managing stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and delivering results under pressure.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the NER, NEM, and Rule change framework.
