Mechanical Systems Designer

We are seeking an experienced mechanical systems designer to join our team. The successful candidate will design and develop new mechanical systems for rolling stock, ensuring they meet specification requirements and are manufacturable with minimal cost.
About the Role- Liaise with suppliers and production personnel to ensure designs meet specification requirements.
- Ensure designs are optimised for manufacturability and minimal cost.
- Diagnose and correct failures in existing rolling stock.
- Provide technical direction to product service and support personnel.
- Define requirements and develop reference designs for new mechanical systems.
- Integrate these designs into rolling stock and ensure their operation and compliance.
- Degree qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering.
- Rail experience with a focus on Freight - Locomotives and wagons.
- Excellent communication skills and computer skills.
- Seniority level: Mid-Senior level.
