We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Systems Designer to join our team. This is a permanent opportunity based at Clyde, with a hybrid work arrangement.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the design, development, and assurance of mechanical systems for passenger trains. They will also deliver mechanical and systems design support across the asset lifecycle, from feasibility studies to third-party reviews and on-site support.

  • Designing and developing mechanical systems that ensure safety, efficiency, and reliability;
  • Providing technical investigations, system upgrades, and assessing designs by external vendors;
  • Using modern design tools like CAD, FEA, and fracture mechanics packages to create practical and cost-effective solutions;
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering;
  • Experience in design or maintenance of mechanical systems, preferably in a rail or transport context;
  • Confidence in applying engineering principles to real-world challenges;
  • A problem-solving mindset and ability to communicate across stakeholders;
